Since gum disease in adults is the leading cause of tooth loss, routine cleanings and exams with good patient care in between visits will help prevent any major tooth problems.  At Clearwater Family & Sedation Dentistry, our goal is to help our patients feel comfortable at your visit.  Our hygienists take the time necessary to educate without making our patients feel bad about their oral health.

What to expect at your first visit

At Clearwater Family & Sedation Dentistry, whether you are a new patient, or a patient of record, at your visit with us, you'll receive diagnostic and preventive services from your hygienist and dental team.  That may include:

  • Updating and collecting all medical history information
  • Oral cancer screening
  • Evaluation of gum tissue
  • Checking biting, chewing and swallowing patterns
  • Appropriate x-rays of teeth to determine cavities or decay
  • Removal of plaque and tartar
  • Fluoride application
  • Sealants (for children)
  • Polishing teeth
  • Adjusting and cleaning of any removable dentures
  • Any educational instructions patients might need

"U.S. Army Veteran"

"I am so grateful for the caring staff at this place! I have a huge dentophobia and from me the time I called them, rescheduled 3 times (with several days notice each time out of respect for their business), to getting my smile back the staff at Clearwater went above and beyond any expectations I had. They made me feel like I was VIP and went to great lengths to comfort me. My whole family has found a dental provider for life. Thank you all so much, you are the best of the best!
